Vascular technology was a budding field in the early 1980’s
and very little formal training was available for those who called themselves
vascular technologists. At that time, one tech trained another tech,
who in turn trained someone else. When testing difficulties arose, these
vascular technology pioneers networked with each other for answers.
In order to facilitate this networking, the Houston Society for Non-Invasive
Technology was founded in 1984 by a handful of these same technologist
who shared a desire to learn as much as possible about the budding field
of vascular technology. The goal of the society was and always has been
to perpetuate learning for it’s members.
